Typical advice from an MD to his or her patient with high blood pressure or needing to lose weight will almost always include this little gem; "eat lots of whole grains and reduce your fat consumption." The worst part is that we listen to them. Since when did MD's become the leading authority of nutrition and health? Guess what, they aren't. If you want health advice go to someone who is in nutrition or fitness, unfortunately you still may get a hundred different answers. Well here is the truth of the matter. Fat doesn't make you fat and whole grains can actually raise your cholesterol. WHAT!!!! thats right, I know it goes against everything you have ever been taught. Here is a good rule of thumb, when it comes to nutrition and fitness, go against common knowledge, it is usually wrong. Chances are that if you simply get rid of all the grains in your diet you will see dramatic improvement in your Cholesterol and you will lose weight. That goes for sugar too. In short if you ingest grains, they will tear up your stomach and intestinal walls, and can lead to many auto immune diseases. Here is one (of many) of my favorite articles. It doesn't take much searching to find more. Click here...
As usual I leave you with this... its a good one.
